Here are my favorite pics from my summer holidays in London, with parents and brothers Art & Herc.

009.jpg

The UK Parliament  is a very popular sight. You can also see the most famous clock in the world, Big Ben. (the picture has been taken from the London Eye, a huge wheel hovering above the Thames river)

010.jpg

This is the old Townhall of London. It is now converted to a tourist complex that includes couple of small museums and a faboulous Aquarium that I visited, full of tropical fishes, jellyfish even sharks! (photo taken from the London Eye)

015.jpg

A very weired coral at the London Aquarium that looks like a sunny side up egg. ;-)

014.jpg

Three little jellyfish. (London Aquarium)

013.jpg

Here are some tropical fish, extremely rare, not found at most countries of the world. (London Aquarium)

0121.jpg

This is a statue by the famous Spanish artist Dali. It is located just in front of the old Townhall.

050.jpg

Above you can see a “graffiti spot”under a museum complex again by the river Thames. Teenagers come here to skate and bicycle.

049.jpg

Not far away from the previous “graffiti spot” a famous British street artist named Banksy invited his friends and sprayed a whole street. (you can see me with the red jacket and my brother Herc)

032.jpg

A rabbit-person graffiti … (behind Herc & my other brother Art)

0531.jpg

…  a skeleton

044.jpg

and a funny graffiti about what we are consuming.

020.jpg

I also visited the nearby Hayward Gallery, where a very strange installation really caught my eye. Bits of furniture and walls were suspended from the ceiling as if a terrible blast had just happened within a house.

048.jpg

This stuffed bird is propably a groose. It can be found at the other end of London, in Kensington, at the Natural History Museum.

022.jpg

A giant prehistoric sceleton of a brachiosaurus. (Natural History Museum again)

023.jpg

Not far from the Natural History museum one can find the huge Hyde Park. Here is a photo of Herc and Dad trying to feed a very cute squirrel.

036.jpg

Having fun at the British Museum!

 033.jpg

more fun at the British Museum!

045.jpg

Looking serious at the British Museum!

0511.jpg

This is an offering to the ancient Greek God/Healer Asklepious by someone who had his foot cured after he prayed to him.  In many Greek Orthodox churches  similar offerings are being made even today. (British Museum)

047.jpg

These marble sculptures were cut off from the Parthenon in Athens by a British merchant and were moved to London. Their heads have been lost at sea or stolen.

025.jpg

This is a whole Roman temple moved here at the British museum.

017.jpg

A trip to London is complete only after visiting the famous Baker Street….

018.jpg

Me and my brothers as “Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson”.

038.jpg

Don’t worry, I examined the dead body and is just a wax figure.

0521.jpg

A photo inside a canal boat. This one crosses the Regent canal (a smaller river that eventually leads to the River Thames). Others are more luxurious and others like this one not as much. Some people even live in them.

041.jpg

We tried Indian food (very spicy!)…

040.jpg

…and drinks (Coke & Sprite) at a Pub by the river.

028.jpg

This is a policeman riding his horse. This isn’t a rare thing to see in London, but it is always very exciting.

026.jpg

This is a pic of people rollerskating at the fabulous Notting Hill Carnival.

003.jpg

The street artists like the one you see above are usually students who can earn some money by wearing a funny costume.

054.jpg

And for the final snapshot I saved the one that shows me trying out my brand new chopsticks at some official Sanrio products from the super cool China town, London!!! :D
